About Bras d'Or Surveys
Bras d'Or Surveys is a privately owned Professional Land Surveying company operating in Nova Scotia. The founder of Bras d’Or Surveys is Nathan Clark NSLS, P.Eng.
Nathan is a graduate of Nova Scotia Land Survey Institute in Lawrencetown, NS (Diploma 1986) and University of New Brunswick in Fredericton NB (B.Sc. Engineering (Surveying) 1991). Nathan began working in surveying industry while working with his father, Orrin Clark NSLS #230, in 1982. Nathan received his license as a professional engineer in Nova Scotia in 1995. He became a full member of Association of Nova Scotia Land Surveyors in 2007. Nathan opened his own business, Bras d’Or Surveys, in 2020.
He has worked within the surveying field in different roles for 40 years. This experience included Residential, Commercial and Industrial projects. Much of this work included supporting Engineering projects. The majority of the work was residential Surveys. Applying skills in small and large subdivisions (up to 999 lots). Has laid out over 800 piles for the new Sydney NSCC campus. Developed a design for re-grading a ski hill for the Canada Games. Various projects at Michelin Tire, Northern Pulp and Port Hawksbury Paper (Consolidation of lands and layout for the biomass project). Managed survey crews working on Maritime Link project (Point Aconi Power to Woodbine substation): clearing limits and easements. Managed crews supporting Heritage Gas expansion into Pictou County, NS completing topographic surveys and easement documents.
